Terms of Service

Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Fauji Chess application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App. These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Fauji Chess ("Company", "we", "us").

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use Fauji Chess. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. The App is available to users in India and internationally, subject to applicable local laws.

Account Rules

One account per person. You may not create accounts on behalf of others or use automated means to create accounts. Your phone number is your identity — keep it secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

Your display name and call sign must not impersonate real individuals (including military officers), be offensive, or violate others' rights. We reserve the right to change or remove names that violate this.

The Veteran status badge is self-declared and must be truthful. Misuse of military identity claims may result in account suspension.

Fair Play

Fauji Chess is built on honour. The following are strictly prohibited and may result in immediate account suspension or permanent ban:

• Using chess engines, bots, or AI assistance during rated games
• Manipulating Izzat scores through match-fixing, sandbagging, or coordinated losses
• Exploiting software bugs or server vulnerabilities
• Harassment, abuse, or threats toward other players
• Sharing your account credentials or playing on someone else's account
• Creating fake regiment affiliations to misrepresent unit identity

We use automated and manual systems to detect fair-play violations. Decisions on bans are final, and Izzat gained through violations will be reversed.

Purchases & Refunds

Individual theme purchases (₹199 per theme) are processed by Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iOS). All purchases are governed by the respective platform's terms and refund policies.

Once a theme is unlocked and associated with your account, it is non-transferable. If you delete your account, purchased themes are not recoverable.

Fauji Chess does not offer refunds for individual theme purchases except where required by applicable law or where a technical failure prevented delivery of the purchased content.

Mess & Unit Licenses

Mess Licenses (₹999/year, up to 30 members) and Unit Licenses (₹4,999/year, up to 200 members) are annual subscriptions processed via Razorpay. Licenses auto-renew unless cancelled at least 7 days before the renewal date.

License benefits — shared themes, extended Mess Room capacity, tournament tools — are available only while the license is active. Upon expiry, the Mess Room reverts to the free tier but all match history is retained.

Refunds on licenses are available within 7 days of purchase if the service was not used. Contact support@faujichess.com with your order ID.

User Content

You retain ownership of your profile information and display name. By using the App, you grant Fauji Chess a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use your display name and regiment badge for leaderboard display, game history, and match results visible to other users.

You agree not to upload any content — including profile photos or call signs — that is defamatory, discriminatory, obscene, or that violates any law or regulation.

Termination

You may terminate your account at any time via Settings → Account → Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate your account immediately for violations of these Terms, without notice or refund.

Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including fair play, liability limitations, and governing law — remain in effect.

Limitation of Liability

Fauji Chess is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free operation, or the accuracy of Izzat calculations.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claims arising from use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of data, loss of Izzat scores, or inability to access the App.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of India. If you are accessing the App from outside India, you are responsible for compliance with local laws.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you via in-app notification when material changes are made. Continued use of the App after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance of the changes.
